Intuitive eating is about creating a healthy relationship with food, mind, AND body.

If you read my first post, you probably heard me mention that I’ve embraced this philosophy called “intuitive eating” — you might be wondering if it’s as simple as it sounds. It is…and it’s not.

It focuses on:

  • Nurturing your body rather than starving it.
  • Reconnecting with your body’s innate signals of hunger, fullness, and food preference.
  • Helping you find the weight you were meant to be.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve seen me post over the course of several months about the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating. Each principle goes into a specific area of this process, and for me these principles were an essential map for my journey of reframing my thoughts & healing these areas of my life.

As I was looking over all that I have posted over the past couple of months— I thought it would be a good idea to put all my Instgram content on the 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating in one centralized place. So, I decided to publish all 10 Principles here on Medium.

Here, each principle will have more depth to it than it did on Instagram/Facebook, which means you’ll get the bonus stuff! So let’s get started with Principle #1: “reject the diet mentality.”
